Wifi calling not functioning

I just switched to Virgin and am trying to setup wifi calling on my new Iphone 13.  After toggling the wifi button on, it hangs up on the Activating WiFi Calling Screen and then comes up with a Message to call Virgin Mobile.  A call to them only confirmed that my plan/phone is eligible for WiFi calling and that I should contact Rogers my Internet provider who inform me it is not their problem as my internet is working fine.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why can't I use wi-fi calling outside Canada?

Hi,

I have two numbers connected to my wife's and I. I have just left Canada and what I did for Wi-Fi calling is:

- I enabled it on my iPhone 13. It works without a problem.

- I also enabled it on my wife's iPhone 11. Enabling was smooth, however she cannot receive calls from Canada while she's connected to Wi-Fi.

We are on the same Wi-Fi. I can receive calls, but she cannot.

What could the problem be? This is critical as she will be working remotely and needs her phone Wi-Fi enabled.

Hi there, @Gorkem. Welcome to the Community.

As shared by @VirginPlusAntgio and other users, wi-fi calling with Virgin Plus is not supported outside of Canada.

While it's good to hear that you're receiving calls, this would be an anomaly; your wife's wi-fi calling is behaving as it normally should and she would need to enable roaming to receive calls as one normally would without wi-fi calling.

If you're still unsure, check out our page on Wi-Fi CallingOpens in a new tab or window and scroll down to Wi-Fi Calling Good-To-Knows or the FAQ beneath that for more info.

This is EXACTLY my problem BUT it's happening yo my phone AND my husband's at the same time.  This is the 3rd time in less than a year and we've been 3 days this time and it still won't turn on.  Was only a few hrs 1st time and came on next day the 2nd time.  These are our only phones so we have no way to call people.  I spent almost an hour with Virgin yesterday and almost an hour with samsung - both say it must be the other.  I have a galaxy 22 and husband has a 21.  Our phones are useless and I'm so frustrated!

So apparently my phone should be good to go with Wi-Fi calling (Samsung Galaxy A53, my plan includes unlimited Canada-wide calling&texting, I live in Canada), but there's no option for it on my phone. I tried using the chatbot for help but it's absolutely broken lol. I live in a basement apartment and my cell reception is poor, but my wifi is great and I just want to stop missing calls from delivery people. But for some reason, I can't turn on Wi-fi calling.
My phone is also greyed out on my profile page; every time I go through the process to reselect my phone it will appear fine on the newly-loaded profile page after, but any navigation away from the page&then back will grey it out again. No idea why that's happening.

Same situation here … I put my new virgin sim in my iPhone SE 3rd generation and I get the message to contact virgin but the agent was at a loss … any updates ?

Hi there, @Mikesnow. Welcome to the Virgin Plus Community, and thank you for your post.

We wanted to check in and see if you were still having issues activating your wi-fi calling on your iPhone. If so, could you try the troubleshooting steps recommended earlier in the thread? Most importantly, try these two:

  • Put the SIM card in another phone to see if the issue is replicable, or
  • Factory reset your phone.

This will help us narrow it down to if it's an issue in our system, or possibly a local issue on your end.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I'm on a BYOP loyalty plan and with unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting. I "should" have be able to use wi-fi calling but it's not available in my SIM settings. How can I get this enabled?

I'm referring to the requirements that were listed in this post: https://forum.virginplus.ca/t5/Member-Benefits-and-My-Account/Loyalty-Upgrade-no-WiFi-calling/m-p/75...
