Service provider impersonation scam - offering discounts

Did anyone else get a phone call about lower monthly payments based on current rates?

I wasn't sure if giving the caller a code would allow them access to my gmail or not...the caller was not convincing of their identity and knew my full name, phone number, and email address so I got worried. He then hung up on me when I wanted to know more...

So there is not a monthly decrease in all plans across Nova Scotia? They sent a code from an authenticator number which looked legit, but I didn't give it to the person over the phone because I got sketched out. They were likely digging into my personal info and possibly even my gmail account.

Hi,

I got a call, offering pay less for my plan.

The agent sent me an email from noreply@ordervirgin.ca showing the discount.

After receiving that email, I trusted that the email address looks authentic.

After that I received an email to reset my password and the call turned into suspicious to me, because the agent asked me to read my user name and some codes received by text.

Is that email address authentic?

Thank you.

Not so much a question, I just wanted to put it out there: I received a call from 226-44*-**** offering me a 30% discount on my monthly bill simply because I was satisfied with my bill. They started asking questions about my account so I hung up without giving any information.

Did anyone receive a call from Bell regarding a 30% discount to valued cellular customers? Seemed legit. Had my account balance and last payment amount, but after the call ( which got cut off) I got a message to say that my account password had changed. I didnt change it! a scam?

I was receiving a call from "VIRGIN PLUS" every day for several days and finally answered yesterday.

I'm feeling a little weary and want to make sure I've not been scammed. He knew my phone plan, address, data usage, etc etc... and said because I've been a loyal member of Virgin that I was getting a good discount on the new Google Pixel. I didn't give him any personal information at all, but I did get a text with a "super secret code" to share.

It did seem legit and I was aware of all the typical scammer signs - do not give out personal information etc...

Is this legit?

Hi,

I received a call from this number +1 (866) 7**-**** on July 24th from Mark who works for Virgin (Call was recorded too).

Mark offered a new plan (BYOP - Bring your own phone plan)

He sent me an email to through a no reply email from Virgin to upload my ID to get the plan.

He told me that the SIM card would arrive on the 31 on July 2025 but it’s not here yet.

I don’t know if the call was real or I got scammed.
When I call back the number, I get the automated voice call from virgin on the line…

can you please confirm the phone number?
