I have been having issues with the wifi router section of the Valeria modem and I am on my second one since the apparent fix is just go and swap for a "new one". I would like to disable the WIFI router and use my ASUS routers. I the past I was able to use bridge mode, but I cannot find it and reading around it seems it doesn't exist in the Valeria modem. I am hoping to get some insight here.

Look for the letter size paper in the package that reads " Installing VALERIE". On that page, and in the middle part, you should see " Your Virgin Plus internet account info" , and it shows you your V2 number ( username) and your password.

I also needed to get the Valerie modem in bridge mode ( or modem mode) so I can get WAN IP address on my Asus Router and continue using my own personal VPN server on Asus Router.
It seems the Modem itself is locked down with basic setup and doesn't have the Bridge mode. What I did to overcome the problem:
a) Connected my ASUS router's WAN port to one of the LAN ports of the Valerie modem.
B) Turned off all WiFi signals on Valerie modem ( to use my Asus Wifi Signal. You don't have to this step if you want to use Valerie's Wifi signal)
C) On my Asus router, under WAN configuration, selected PPPoE , entered my V2 username and password, and boom. It authenticated and got the WAN IP address ( No double NAT) and my VPN server on the Asus Router also works.
I read some people changed the credential on Valerie to something invalid before doing step C above. However I found it un-necessary as it seems Virigin ( Bell) allows multiple login to their network.

I want to do the same thing. I went in to Valerie through 192.168.2.1. But there is no option to disable the wi-fi signals. How did you disable the wi-fi signals? Thank you in advance!

I found it. I clicked on Manage My Wi-Fi. Then at Primary Wi-Fi network I turned off Whole Home Wi-Fi. After that an Advanced settings button appeared. Clicked on the button and I was able to turn off the wi-fi signals.

Hi, how can I get my PPPoE user and password? I looked for it on the documentation that the tech left my the day of the installation but everything is empty, and this afternoon I called the support and they tell me that they didn’t know about what I was talking about.

Your username looks like v2xxxxx which you can find out when you login to your modem portal.
For the password, you can get help from Virgin support. If one person doesn't know the answer, I hang up and call again to get someone else on the phone 🙂
In my case though, since it was self installation and no technician was involved, I got the password printed on welcome package and it was included in the modem shipping box.

You can call to client services and say that you want to know the password of your account. Usually it’s a generic one like CanadaXXXX

You can use your own router without the virgin's one. You only need to buy a media converter. I'm using it with my asus.
I ask my credentials on chat.

Up until Jun 24 2024 I was able to turn off Valerie's Wifi Transmitter, but I think I got a firmware update and her wifi transmitter turned back on and in the Home...Manage My Wifi box there is no longer a way to turn off the wifi transmitter. I use a Google Mesh wifi router connected to Valerie with an ethernet cable and I would prefer to turn off Valerie's wifi so I don't have an unused wifi signal buzzing around my home.

Are you unable to replicate the steps as provided earlier in this thread by other users? If so, could you please try doing a factory reset on Valerie? If you're unsure as to how, check out our Community post on Factory resetting Valerie

Thanks for your response. I figured it out. In the Manage My Wi-Fi screen, I have to turn off "Whole Home Wi-fi". Only then will an "Advanced settings" button appear on that screen, and when I press "Advanced settings" I can go into a screen that will let me turn off the wifi transmitter. As long as "Whole Home Wi-fi" is on, the "Advanced settings" button will be invisible.

Hi,
I'm using my Valerie solely as a modem (i.e. wifi turned off and DHCP disabled) in conjunction with my ASUS router. Everything worked fine for about half a year then I noticed my Valerie's Wi-Fi came back on. I tried to get to the Valerie's menu while using http://valerie and 192.168.2.1 while directly hardwired into my Valerie using an ethernet cable and my router disconnected (after restarting the router), but the browser can't connect.
I've done a factory reset (holding down the reset button for 5 seconds), but the Valerie does not reset and remains in the same state.
Does anyone know if there's another way to force a factory reset?
Alternatively, is there a way to get to the Valerie menu? I've tried looking for the Valerie in the list of clients in my router when the router is connected in case it has a different IP, but I don't see it.
