New to Virgin and it’s been a bumpy start. This is a secondary emergency-only phone for family, but I’ve struggle to have it work reliably.
It’s a $100/year prepaid plan with 400 minutes and 400 text - perfect for my use case. While it can receive incoming text messages and phone calls, I cannot send text messages or make phone calls and receive the insufficient funds notice each time.
In my account, it shows that my prepaid plan is good until October 2023 and that I haven’t had any usage on my 400/400 amount. It does however note that I need to update my phone every time I log in, despite selecting it every time.
Hoping to get some guidance here before calling.
EDIT: To make matters worse, I added $15 to my top up just to see if that help and while I was able to then send text messages, each message cost me $1.00!

For anyone coming across this post in the future, the issue was with my iPhone trying to use cellular data on a plan without data. Virgin did an amazing job providing a detailed explanation on what settings to toggle in iOS and I had no issues after making the recommended changes.
Thank you, Virgin!

Hey @Cole1234,
Thanks for reaching out to the Virgin Plus Community.
That is an odd behavior for our $100/yearly plan and we would like to have a closer look into it for you.
