Unable to reach Rogers cell landline

My elderly 80+ year old's, recently switched from a Bell land line to a Rogers package with a satellite phone. They kept their old land line #. When I call them I get a message that the phone is no longer in service. Although my siblings, Rogers and Tellus customers can get through. They have suggested it is because of my cell carrier being Virgin. Is that posable or is there some fix for this?

In order for the Community to best assist, some clarification will be needed;
- Is the issue only happening with this specific number or with all Rogers numbers?
- Is the phone number dialed correctly? If only using the 10 digit number, try adding the 1 prior.
- Have you got in touch with our technical support team to review your concern and open a ticket if needed?
