Trouble with Voicemail Cutting in.

First time user and need some help.  I have an Alcatel fix phone due to physical mobility issues.  A friend is typing this post for me.   For the last number of months people have been trying to call me, but their calls go straight to voicemail.  I do not have any callers blocked from the phone.   A person may be call me ten times and their call go straight to voicemail, then on their eleventh try my phone does start ringing and I actually get the call.  The volume on the phone has been checked, the phone has been checked to ensure that no callers are blocked, it has been checked to ensure airplane mode is not on, the phone has been reset, it has been checked to ensure it is not in silent mode.   The phone is laid in the same place each time on the table.   This issue was only a couple of times a day, now its numerous times a day for long periods of time.   I have had a person start calling at 6 pm every ten minutes until 9 pm for example and the same thing happens to them.   If I am expecting a call and after a long period I don't receive the call, I have to contact that person to ask if they happened to call yet.   Any suggestions of anything at all that could be going on here.  It is actually happening more frequently in the evenings and nights.

What is the model of your Alcatel device?

Are you able to test your sim card in another device and confirm if you are experiencing the same issue?

It is an Alcatel flip phone  model  4044 V  -  4gb.   Just tried the sim card in another phone.  No issue.   This phone was only purchased in March 2023.

It sounds like a warranty issue, did you get the device from Virgin?

If you did, check out the support article https://www.virginplus.ca/en/support/faq.html?q=under-warranty for additional details.
