MMS texts significant transmission delay

Sent a Mass text to 4 family members and found varying receiving results.  I posted mine at 12:39 pm. The times received varied: 12:40pm, 1:20 pm, 9:05 pm and one never even got it.  We ensured everyone had data turned on. The other family members can all Mass text to each other and there is no delay.  I also receive theirs, so it's either my phone or my Virgin Plus account. Some even get the texts out of conversation order. (They will get later messages initially, then the first messages come hours later). Any suggestions?

For the Community to be better able to assist, we'll need for more details:

  • What phone model/OS are you using? What model/OS are your family members using?
  • Could you clarify if you're seeing delays on MMS, text messages, or both?
  • Is everyone in the group with Virgin Plus, or is it a mix of providers?

Motorola one vision with Android 11.

Seems to be only MMS.  Other family members also have iPhone12 and 12Max (the worst of the time lag) and Moto G5 (Android8) and MotoGPower (Android11).  I believe they are on Shaw Mobile.

If you try sending an MMS message to the family members individually, do you see the same delay? 

Has the delay in a group been recurring consistently?

Do you or your family members live in an area with low signal?

Individuals get MMS sporadically delayed.  My 24 hour delay person got a MMS message almost immediately last night.  There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the connectivity between mine and everyone else.  We all live in Edmonton, so signal should be decent everywhere.
