Accessing landline voice mail (not cellphone voicemail)

We have a landline as part of our Virgin package.  Until recently, accessing the landline's voice mail was easy.  Now, my landline says "voicemail message via phone company", and I can't get to it.  Even if I could change the message to say "don't leave a voicemail, we can't access messages" I'd be happy.

So, how do I access the landline voice mail?  I used to listen for the dial tone, then dial 1, or maybe it was *98, but now that doesn't get me to the voice mail, just a voice telling me the last time I accessed the voice mail.

Hey there @SarahM

Welcome to the community and thanks for your post.

To access your voicemail dial 1 or *86 on your phone that is connected to the Home Phone Hub and follow the prompts.

In order for the community to best assist some extra details will be needed;

  • Have you made any changes to your voicemails settings the last time it was accessed successfully?
  • Does it give you any options after the recording?
  • Have you tried pressing the pound key during the recording to see if it gives other options.
  • Have you tried unplugging your Home Phone Hub for a few minutes and trying again after?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
  • Have you contacted our technical support team to review your concern? If so, what was the outcome?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

If I dial 1 or *86, the voice says "your last email access was....." and nothing more.

I've made no changes to the voicemail settings, I can't get to the voicemail settings.

I can't get to the recording

unplugging doesn't work

what trouble shooting steps are there?

I haven't contacted the technical support team
