Hi,
I just added a new (third) number to my account for my son. It is a 403 area code, but when I dial it from a land line in Calgary, I get an error recording saying the number is long distance, I need to hang up and add +1 to the number. I know 403 covers more than just Calgary. So how do I get the number registered to Calgary? I have phoned tech support twice on this, they don't know how.
I know land lines are becoming a thing of the past, but they still exist, and the concept of a number being 'long distance' still exists. So there must be a way to fix this.
Can you help please?

Hey there @Daniel,
Thanks for your post.
Land line and mobile local calling areas are different and these situation can happen. With this being said, Virgin Plus does not have the ability to change the locality of a phone number. However if you choose to do so, you can request a phone number change to a different local area.
A number change request does have a fee associated. Check out One Time Charges to learn more.

Sounds good thank you for responding. Do you know if there is a government service I could contact to move the number? Technically the number would stay exactly the same, it would just “move” from some other place in Alberta to Calgary where I am. I did get this number from Virgin when I activated, but I guess the agent was not filtering to Calgary based numbers somehow.

Might have found a clue… seems I was given a number from Stettler.

Hello,
Hope someone can help me with this issue when I dial my number (403-393-****) from a landline in Calgary, I get a message recording saying the number is long distance, I need to hang up and add +1 to the number. my number is registered in lethbridge but now I leave in Calgary and I need the function to get my buzzer code working. I was wondering if my city can be changed to calgary. I have called VMobile tech support with no solution.
I will appreciate if I can get help with this.
Thank you,
