Webpage veracity

why does the virginplus webpage try to gain access to so much information?  it slows down/stops my browser (firefox).

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post. 

That's definitely strange and not a common effect of our website. You can try clearing the cookies and cache to see if it still does the same thing. Give Chrome and Edge a try as well.
