Hello Everyone,

  1. Upgraded from a Samsung A20 to a Samsung S21+ 5G 128GB
  2. Placed SIM from A20 into S21+  - all good recognized by Virgin
  3. NOT receiving MMS?
  4. Status icon LTE has changed to H+?

Help... Thank you!

Hi @GongLi

Try to Reset network settings,

and turn on your mobile data to you can send/receiving MMS,

if still not working then you need to Check Your APN Settings,

1.Navigate to the Settings menu.

2.Select Mobile Network/Connection Settings.

3.Select Access Point Names.

4.Add a New APN setting.

5.Fill in the following settings:

  • Name: Virgin Plus
  • APN: pda.bell.ca
  • Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
  • Port: 80
  • Username:
  • Password:
  • Server:
  • MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
  • MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
  • MMS port: 80
  • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
  • MCC: 302
  • MNC: 610
  • APN type: blank

6.Press Menu and Save

7.Reboot your device.

Thank you - MMS is all good now. Did as you advised with Access Point and APN specifications.

-BUT- still only H+ not LTE.

The S21+ 128GB 5G is refurbished unlocked running One UI 5.1, Android 13.

Network mode: 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)

I am confused as to why the phone is showing H+ instead of LTE???

Any other suggestions - thank you.

Hi @GongLi

what your plan is 3G/4G/5G

The "H+" symbol on your phone represents HSPA+ (High-Speed Packet Access), which is a type of 3G technology that can provide higher data speeds than standard 3G. When your phone is connected to an HSPA+ network, it can provide data speeds that are comparable to 4G LTE in some cases.

so your device refurbished, if your plan not 3G then try to do Factory Reset, how to do go

  • Apps
  • Settings
  • Backup and reset
  • Factory data reset
  • Reset Device
  • Erase Everything

and if still same H+ maybe the device issue or you can try another sim card from another provide to test it.or your SIM card not support if your plan 5G then you need replacing your SIM card.

I have the same problem !

I was a happy Fido 4G customer but as I wanted a home Internet I switched to Virgin. But now I am paying for 4G data plans and it shows me H+. The upload and download speed are 250Kbps and 70kbps respectively. It is really frustrating. I called the Virgin support multiple times all they say is to reset the network settings or it's a coverage problem. I am just done with Virgin plus already
