- Hi on Saturaday I got a call from “Virgin” claiming I was eligible for a free phone upgrade iether the iPhone 15 or the S24 Samsung. Anyways long story short I ended up changing my account password, Pin And so forth and pulled my credit card of the account just in case. BUT I did receive a Samsung S24 with a SIM card and it actually looks like the real deal. So here’s my question. How does this scam work?

Hi there, @chickenfarmer,
Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Virgin Plus Community.
That does sound strange. A good indicator that these types of calls may be fraudulent is the type of questions they ask. One thing to remember, Virgin Plus will never ask you personal information such as Driver’s License number, credit card details, passwords, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) verification codes.
Another indicator, is if during the call or after you loose access to your My Account profile (username and/or password was changed). This is usually what happens when scammers take over your account.
We strongly suggest for everyone to check out our How To article; Service provider impersonation scam made especially for this scenario.
Once on the article, place close attention to the section What to do if you suspect fraud as we've added the phone number to contact If you believe you may be the victim of fraud.

In the last 36 hours, I have received the same 2 emails (pictured)
I contacted support both times and both times got it re-opened but has this happened to anyone else? Support can’t tell me why, even the second person I spoke to said he had never seen this happen before so I’m kinda concerned.

Anyone getting calls from Bell Mobility reps saying that they will upgrade your current phone and plan from Virgin to Bell Mobility for say $20 less per month taxes included. They seem to know your username and account plan. So to summarize it you are getting a brand new Iphone 16 Pro Max, your plan from Virgin is transferred to Bell Mobility and paying less($20) per month.

Been with Virgin since... idk, 2008? and have never received calls from them. A couple weeks ago, I got a "Suspected Spam" call and ignored it. Checked my log later for other reasons, saw it was "Virgin Plus" and figured that's a bit strange. They didn't leave a message so I thought nothing of it. Got this call again a few days later, but was busy so rinse and repeat. Come to find out they also called my Parents house looking for me, which I guess I had their number associated with my account from when I first signed up. They just asked for me and I obviously wasn't there, so nothing more.
Today I have a spam email from Virgin Plus that says a Samsung S22 has been sent out. It has all my details, etc. I close the email and got on the Virgin Plus site, but nothing noted there.
...what's going on here?
