Why do I need a tech appointment for an Internet price change?

I am changing my plan to a lower price. I am not changing my speed. Why do I require a technician appointment? What would they do? Everything is working today.

Hi there @lcjonsson.

Welcome to the Community.

A plan change at times can mean more than a change in price. Depending on what plan you had previously and what you're changing to now, equipment and/or wiring would need to be changed out by a technician.

Depending on your region and current technology being used in your household, a simple plan change can require a technology upgrade, regardless of the download speeds or monthly pricing.

As mentioned, I am keeping the same 60 Mbps speed. Will someone confirm if indeed a tech is needed.
