Disabling Router mode

Is there a way to disable the router mode on valérie modem and use it just as a modem. You’re modem doesn’t support NAT so i need to put a router between my network and you’re modem/router?

Yes, PPPoE username (v2xxxx@virginmobile.ca) and the password. If you received the modem in the mail for self installation., the credential must be included in the package ,(otherwise how you can setup the modem to connect to their network).

Regardless, if for any reason you don't know the credential, call Virigin support and they should be able to provide you with username and password.

Hi. I'd like to purchase a wifi 6 router so I can have more simultaneous connections (lots of smart devices), and I have a few questions about how it will work with the stock virign modem I have.

1. Will both devices be able to broadcast wifi networks, or will only the wifi 6 router work and the valerie one will have to have its wifi disabled?.

2. Will all the ethernet  ports on the valerie modem still work once I've connected the new wifi 6 modem? E.g. having double the wired ethernet connections..( out the back of the valerie modem, and the new router)

Thanks to anyone who can provide insight.

Hello, from reading up forums and such, it seems bridge mode is not straightforward. I want to connect my existing mesh router to Valerie. I'm reading to use DMZ but not really sure how that works. Has anyone successfully used an external router with Valerie?

I recently received a modem Valerie from your team. Although this equipment works well, I prefer to use my own fiber media converter and router to connect to your service. I believe this setup would better meet my needs.

Could you please provide me with the necessary information to configure my personal equipment properly? I'm specifically interested in the PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) settings, I do have the username and password, but it didn't connect. For my last provider I had to set the PPPoE in a VLAN (35). If there are additional settings or configurations needed to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with your network, I'd appreciate if you could include these as well.

Thank you!

I use my own Netgear router as a router/firewall and for wifi, so I've placed that router in the DMZ zone on the Valerie modem and turned on the Advanced DMZ feature.  It's been working great for more than a year.  Two days ago, all my internet connected devices in my home lost connectivity.  After much troubleshooting, the issue appears to be with the Valerie modem.  If I turn off the Advanced DMZ feature, my Netgear router starts to work again.  I haven't changed anything on my internal network or Netgear, so logically it's the Valerie modem.  Maybe a new firmware push that now is causing problems?  Who knows, tech support at Virgin is useless.  Can't talk to anyone that is even remotely knowledgable or capable of doing advanced troubleshooting.  Anyone else have using this feature and have this issue?

Hi!

Question: can I plug-in my own router to another internet socket in the house and still have access to the internet from it's wifi network? Or the Virgin router (Steve) is the only option to access internet?

Context: Internet sockets in my house are located in such a way that there is no a good spot so that I had a good internet connection in the whole house. I understand there is an option to buy a Wifi extender. But before that... I have an Apple Air Port router. Air Ports can extend only other Air Port's networks. So I can't extend Steve's network with it. So I'm wondering if I can just use the Air Port as a second router with it's own network? (I could just try turning it on and check, right? 🙂 But... to do that I will need to buy an internet cable... So before that I decided to ask here)

My question is different. I don't need a bridge mode. I need to turn on 2 router in parallel, separately.

Btw I see a similar question above, but it also has no replies 😞

Is this forum where users try to help themselves? Or Virgin support team also answers the questions?

How/where did you find your PPPoE password? I only have my username. Thanks!

User name and password are printed on welcome paper you received with your modem. If you have lost that, I am sure by contacting technical support team they can reset your password and provide you a new one.

Are you talking about the PPPoE user id and password? Because the three welcome packages that I have (current plus two from before) only talk about Wi-Fi SSID/pwd, not the PPPoE credentials (which I understand that very few users actually need).

I signed up for a fibre 1 Gbps fibre internet plan and was provided with a Vincent modem. My home network use case require that I need to configure my own router to connect to Virgin using a PPoE connection. The documentation on how to do that is clear but  I need the PPoE password for my v2xxxxx@virginmobile.ca account. I contacted Virgin Plus technical support and they informed me they are unable to provide such a thing and they never do. I am confused since I know for a fact this capability exists for Bell and at this point VirginPlus is practically Bell. I guess I will have to cancel the service since it's unusable to me unless someone can help
