Voicemail does not create after hanging up

When someone tries to leave a voicemail with me, they cannot do it unless they wait a long time after recording their message in order to press a number to confirm to send. When I was at a different service provider, hanging up the call after recording the message will automatically leave me the voicemail.

Is there a way for that?

That's definitely odd, as when someone is done leaving you their message, a simple hang up will automatically save the recording in your inbox.
