about possible landline service with Virgin

Last week I’ve made arrangements to have a Virgin router installed on Monday to begin my Virgin internet service for 50 mbps.

I also made arrangements to have Bell Sympatico stop my internet service by 5 pm that day.

I told Bell that I’m keeping my Bell phone service for my landlines.

I was told by both Bell and Virgin that the Virgin tech person is really just a Bell tech and he will take my Bell Router Home Hub 3000 and replace it with a Virgin router.

The problem is, based on conversations I’ve had this evening with someone from the Bell Forum community that these days modern phone lines also need a router to work right.

Does this mean I need to keep my Bell Home Hub 3000 for my phone while also installing the Virgin router for my new Virgin internet  access?

Or, will the new Virgin router have landline capability such that I would need to switch to Virgin for landline service?

Does Virgin offer landline service?

Or can I use the Virgin router for my landline phone service and still be with Bell (if Virgin doesn’t handle landline service)?

Or does Virgin offer an add-on option for landline service?

Hey there @ptxyz123

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

We would like to start by welcoming you to the Virgin Plus family.

We unfortunately wouldn't have the capability to run your Bell services on our Virgin Plus modem. Our Home Phone services are offered only in certain areas of Alberta, British-Columbia and Quebec and is provided over the mobile network via a Wireless Home Hub.

Thank you
