How to Transfer Your Existing Number to Virgin Plus
Before starting, ensure you have the following:
- Your previous provider's active phone number, ready to receive an SMS.
- Your previous provider's account information.
- Your Virgin Plus temporary phone number and your new Virgin Plus device or SIM card.
Steps:
- Access the Transfer Portal
Open the Membership Agreement email you received after placing your order and click the link within, or go directly to VirginPlus.ca/NumberTransfer to start the process.
- Enter Your Information
First, enter the temporary phone number provided in the email and press "Continue". Then, enter your name.
- Verify Your Account
Next, verify your account with your previous provider. You can use your account number.
- Confirm Details
Fill in the required fields and click "Continue". Confirm that the information you entered is correct and press "Submit".
- Validate with Your Previous Carrier
Follow the validation steps on your previous carrier's device. You will receive an SMS from your previous carrier. Respond "Yes" to confirm you want to transfer your number.
- Complete the Transfer
Once you have responded "Yes" to the SMS, the number transfer will begin.
- If you received a new Virgin Plus SIM card: Insert it into your device.
- If you did not receive a SIM card: Turn on your phone and connect to Wi-Fi. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete your e-SIM setup. Your e-SIM will automatically be activated.
- Check Status (Optional)
The transfer of a mobile number can take up to 2.5 hours. You can check the status from the transfer portal by clicking on "check the status of your request" and entering the number you are transferring.
