Can Virgin Plus Charge a $30 NSF Fee Under the New $10 Cap?

Does anyone know if Virgin Plus can still charge a $30 NSF fee?

My bill was $50, but because the payment didn’t go through, I was charged an additional $30 NSF fee, bringing the total to $80.

I thought the new federal rules introduced a $10 cap on NSF fees. Does that cap apply to Virgin Plus payments as well, or is this different because it’s a telecom bill?

Hey there @Amit kumar ,

Welcome to the community and great question.

Yes, it is indeed different. The federal $10 cap on non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees applies strictly to federally regulated banks, not to telecom companies or other merchants.

You can view the full list of potential fees on the Virgin Plus One-Time Charges page.
