To pay your Virgin Plus bill through pre-authorized payments or online banking, you’ll need to enter a specific identifier—your 14‑digit Client ID. Many Members experience confusion because Virgin Plus can display several numbers across invoices and account pages (e.g., 9‑digit numbers, 10‑digit account numbers, 11‑digit references). This article explains exactly which number to use, where to find it, and how to fix common setup errors.
14‑digit Virgin Plus Client ID
- Appears on the top-right corner of your monthly invoice
- Is used specifically for online banking bill payments
- May include letters AND numbers (alphanumeric)
- Must be typed exactly as shown — no spaces, no special characters
Important: Some banks display “14 digits” but still allow letters. Alphanumeric bill IDs are expected and supported.
Where to Find Your Client ID
You can locate your 14‑digit Client ID in these places:
1. On Your Invoice (Most Reliable)- Log into My Account
- Open your latest monthly bill
- Look at the top-right corner
- Your Client ID, Virgin Plus number, and Account number may all appear—only the Client ID is used for online banking
If the invoice is not immediately accessible:
- Go to Billing
- Select View My Bill
- Use the digital PDF version for the correct identifier
Setting Up Virgin Plus as a Payee
Search for payees such as:
- Virgin Plus
- Virgin Plus Mobility
- Virgin Plus Home Internet
- Virgin Mobile Canada (still used by some banks)
Enter your 14‑digit alphanumeric Client ID
Ensure there are:
- No spaces
- No hyphens
- No extra characters
If the bank rejects your ID, the most common issues are:
- Wrong payee selected
- Typo in the ID
- Entered with spaces
- Bank's system incorrectly validating
