Remote control for Chromecast

Hi! Can anyone confirm if this Google remote is compatible with the Chromecast we received when subscribing to Virgin Plus TV? Or is it for use with another model?

I'm also wondering if the Virgin Plus TV app is compatible with the Amazon Fire TV Stick? I looked up the Roku stick and it does not work with Virgin Plus, so I'm doing more research before making a purchase.

As per the Google remote article you have provided, the remote requires Chromecast with Google TV combo. The Chromecast that we provide is the original version, however to be safe we would suggest to reach out to Google directly to confirm.

In case this info can help anyone else, I did reach out to Google to confirm and yes, the remote is only compatible with the Google TV Chromecast, not the third gen Chromecast.
