Is there any device or service I can use to record TSN & SN programs from Virgin Plus?

Hey there @mledanielle

The Virgin TV app is not enabled for recording, but is enabled for Download & Go (D&G) for sVOD (subscription Video on Demand).

Hi there @Brian42.

Thanks for your post.

"Download & Go (D&G)" is only available for On Demand content. If the content is eligible for D&G, once you open the program in Virgin TV a download symbol will be visible for you to select.

For more information, take a look at our page on Using Download And GoOpens in a new tab or window

Hey there @DGLR,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

The Virgin TV app is enabled for Download & Go (D&G) for sVOD (subscription Video on Demand), at this time sports channels are not included.

Will there ever be an option for PVR? I miss being able to record my shows.

Hi all, Has anyone found a DVR solution for Virgin Plus TV? I was hoping that Channels DVR was one but they still don't have Virgin Plus on their provider list. Virgin's "On Demand" is the only thing available but it doesn't provide everything I need.

Where do I find this "Download & Go (D&G)" in the App? I cannot find any buttons or dropdowns with this label anywhere. I can play, resume play, add to watchlist. There is a "ways to watch" dropdown that shows me I'm indeed subscribed to items I want to use but nothing looking like "Download & Go (D&G)".

This is very disappointing.  How can I record my favourite live programs to watch later?

I called the Virgin help desk and was assured that it takes 3-7 days for Virgin to set up the Record function and that I would get it eventually.  I’m sceptical and  think he might have said this just to get me off the line.  If he’s telling the truth, why is there no mention of a record function in any of Virgin’s on-line material?

Did you ever find a solution to this? the lack of PVR is holding me back from switching to Virgin TV

Don't think PVR is a feature, wish it was.  Can an expert chime in?

There is a rewind feature that allows you to go back a couple of hours but the channel has to have been selected without anyone changing channels.

Is it possible to record TV shows with the Virgin plus tv app? Is there a cloud PVR like on Bell or other tv providers?

D&Go isn’t that Usefull , if in my case I want to watch something on a channel like a race in Europe that airs at 4 am EST.  I’m not going to get up a 3:30 am to be sure I start the download request 😞

Which channels are supported under the on demand - D&Go function ?

Thanks,

Hi there, @DeadEye. Welcome to the Virgin Plus Community, and thanks for your post.

Download & Go is specifically for video-on-demand content and movies. As such, content such as live sports events like Formula 1 may not be available. To check, there will be a download symbol next to anything that supports Download & Go.

For more details on Download & Go and important notes, check out our Support page on Using Download And GoOpens in a new tab or window

Hello Kris, ( Or anyone)

Do you know of any Virgin + supported methods to record content such as live sports events like MotoGP, WSBK and Formula 1 ?

Any TiVo like functionality ?

Thanks,
Don
