people calling "back" even if I have not called them

for the past week and a half I have received a few callbacks from people I do not know, I have not called them.... I also get random missed calls, and when I call back, the person states he/she has never called my number.... any one experiencing something similar?

Welcome to the Community.

What you're experiencing sounds like Caller ID/Number Spoofing, this is usually done when the caller is trying to mask their actual name and number from appearing on the call display.

I have also got a call like this on a non-virgin account, the caller was quite polite, but I never called him.

I want spam calls ( now they don't even ring....they call straight to my voicemail. in 2 calls, my voicemail is full. I want this stopped. 

even Virgin sends me ads on MY phone that I pay monthly for. What the hell is THAT about? How have we let this get so ridiculous? 

If Virgin doesn't stop these Chinese calls from getting thru to my voicemail ( it's POINTLESS to block their numbers because they'll just invent another number!!! .????) I'll switch to another carrier. I'll keep switching until I'm NOT woken up by my phone reminding me that my SSN needs updating, OR there's been 2 previous delivery attempts for something to my front door, OR CRA is going to take me to court, OR whatEVER!!!!!

I am having trouble with my daughters phone. Her friends are telling her that her phone is calling them when she isnt calling. Also she is getting calls from them and it is not them calling. When she answers these calls she is getting voicemails. Her phone is calling random places around town and she is getting international calls

I think my number is being used by someone else. I got a call back from a stranger that said someone had just called them from my number. Also, I have received a strange text. 

What do I do about this?
