Wifi Calling won't activate on S20

Hello,
Hardware: Samsung S20
Issue: wifi calling works fine until random stop. When I toggle it on/off or restart phone, the little phone/wifi icon doesn't appear and I have no reception for calls or text mesages. Once I get back into town and get network coverage + wifi, it works fine again.
I work in a remote area with no network coverage. Wifi calling works fine until it doesn't.
Support from Virgin: call phone company
Support from Samsung: It's carrier related, contact them.
Anyone had/has a similar issue?

Hey there @glgmesh,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post. You said you worked in an area where there is no network coverage, what kind of/where is the Wi-Fi that you're connecting to?.
Other things to consider; has the issue started after you completed an update?
If not, make sure your phone OS is updated to its latest version and restart your phone. If the issue persists you can erase your Wi-Fi calling settings and re-save your information. You can also "forget" your saved Wi-Fi password settings and reconnect to the Wi-Fi with a fresh password.
Try that out and let the Community know how it went.

Hi,
I also have a S20 with Android 12 OneUI 4.0
I use WiFi calling because my office is in the basement of my house and the signal is not strong enough... It was with videotron by the way... 🙄 I've made all the possible software update, the problem did not start after an update, it is an issue since I've change phone and switched to Virgin.
I have changed the WiFi password, made the phone forget and reconnect to the wifi, reset the router, everything.
I still regularly have to reactivate the WiFi calling, refill the form and activate it with the code you send by text...
So... Why?

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.
That is definitely odd and not normal behavior of the Wi-Fi Calling feature.
There are a few reasons you may be having trouble:
- Data could be blocked on your account, do a check to ensure data is functional.
- Turn off Power Saving Mode.
- If you haven't already please restart your phone.

Hi Antgio,
I'm definitely not in power saving mode.
My phone has been restarted several times since I had it, I've had this problem since last summer when I switched from Videotron to Virgin and at the same time bought the phone.
What do you mean by "ensure data is functional" ?
Everything else on the phone, from Spotify to YouTube though Twitter, Facebook and whatnot is working well either on my home wifi or on the LTE network.

Hi,
Follow up on this. I have been dealing with this issue for the past 10 months or so. The issue is still ongoing.
For additionnal info, I paid off this phone after 2 yr and switched plans to a byop. All OS updates are up to date and the phone is in mint working condition.
Thrusday Oct. 27th: I leave network coverage for a location with NO network available. I activate wifi calling once on wifi and wifi calling works great.
Friday Oct. 28th: I leave wifi calling on. Works great. During the day I get unstable wifi connection and loose wifi altogether during small periods of time (due to me walking out of range). When I come back to wifi connection, the wifi calling comes back online as it should.
Saturday Oct. 29th: While connected to wifi, wifi calling stops working mid-day. My day does not differ from the previous day. When I try to re-activate wifi calling, this is the error message I get: "You must be in an area with mobile coverage and connected to wifi to turn on wifi calling"
What? No, I do not. This is the exact reason of why I use wifi calling...because I have no mobile coverage. And it worked fine yesterday in the exact same conditions as today...
So this has been happening to me randomly after 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 days. There is no pattern.
Virgin customer care claims it should work so they refer me to samsung and vice versa.
And I have tried all the: restart phone, go into safe mode, take out sim card, verify OS updates etc etc
Any insight? Anyone?

i AM HAVING A SIMULAR PROBLEM . I can't text out of a known wifi area .... I am a senior and I thought this $25. plan had voice and text , apparently I only get it if there is a known wifi hot spot ...... Am I doing something wrong in the settings?
I live right down town Toronto ...... apple phone ....
Reset the phone still the same ..

I have the same on 2 phones It just started today. Can't get the wifi calling back on 2 Phones of of the blue??
I tried to get customer support .No luck with them. I get to the point after putting in the code & it tells you to go back to activate. It tries & then nothing until I start to the point that I exceeded my tries. I am not happy I need a new carrier phones are S20 & S9 I rely on the wifi calling we live in the country with no Network

I am in the same boat as of today 2 samsung phones get no wi fi calling .Customer support is no help. It has been working great prior all other things work great FB google etc. I may need a new carrier.

Settings
Press Phone.
Press the menu icon.
Press Settings.
Press the indicator next to "Wi-Fi calling" to turn the function on or off.
When Wi-Fi calling is active, the Wi-Fi calling icon is displayed.
Press the Home key to return to the home screen.

I'm using a Google pixel 6a and have set up everything on the phone to enable wifi calling but it doesn't work. I'm assuming I need to do something on my account to enable or set up wifi calling, is that true? Any help?
