Text Messages between Samsung S20 FE 5G/VIrgin Mobile Users are slow to send

In the past 6 months, text messages that are sent on my Samsung S20 FE 5G on Virgin Mobile that are being sent to another Samsung S20 FE 5G Virgin Mobile users take almost a 1 minute to send.  Every other user on my texting list are no problem.  Has anyone else experienced this slowness for texting with other Samsung S20 FE 5G 128GB users on Virgin Mobile?

My partner and I have noticed the same thing.  We have Samsung phones and text each other is taking a long time, text others intant

Couple thoughts come to mind with the FE to FE SMS delay and @Charliethecat issue. 

Are you both using the same messaging app?

You can confirm by opening your Settings, scroll down and touch Apps. You should see "Choose default apps" at the top of the new screen. Touch that and scroll down to SMS app. Confirm both users are using the same messaging app. If the default apps are different, mirror each other by updating the phones default SMS app and send a test SMS. 

If you are using the same default app for SMS, have you enable RCS. You can confirm by opening your settings and searching "RCS chats". Selecting the result you see listed. You will see RCS chat at the top of the screen, touch that. If "Turn on RCS chats" is enabled, disable and test if SMS delivery speed improves. 

If you are using a third party messaging app, disable the app and test if the SMS are received quicker. 

 

Last thought would be to clear your messaging app Cache. Long press and hold the Messaging icon, touch the information << i >> you see in the top right corner of the pop up. Scroll down and touch Storage. Touch Clear cache along the bottom of screen. Power cycle your device off completely for 60 seconds and power back on. (Power cycle your device by pressing and holding the Power button until you are prompted with "power off", "restart" or "Emergency call", touch "power off". ) Test if the speed of delivery has improved for your SMS once restarted.
