Roaming usage shows up even when I didn't use any data.

Virgin plus is showing roaming usage even when I use data while roaming off. Is there something that can be done for this? I don't want to pay for roaming when I haven't made use of the service.

As a matter of privacy no representative is going to be able to see what is using the data on your phone; only the amount used, a rough time stamp, and any associated charges. Additionally, do bear in mind that as the Community is a peer-to-peer support channel, we're unable to comment as to account specific inquiries such as personal billing.

We'd recommend making sure Data Roaming is off in your phone settings. You can check out this Apple support page on mobile data roaming optionsfor more info.

Otherwise, you can also check out this Apple support page on How to view how much data you're usingto narrow down what may or may not be using the data while roaming. Certain apps may have an automatic exemption to being unable to use data while you otherwise have data usage disabled - this is often called "background data".

Same with my wife and I. We turned off Data Roaming and got hit with over $1000 in charges in less than a month. We're not using ANY data.
