Poor reception in Niagara area

I have been experiencing dropped calls for the last 6+ months. I am in Niagara area (Ridgeway) and have NEVER has this issue before. We are suppose to be in a covered Zone. At times I can  hear who I am speaking to but they can't hear me.  Calls are not ringing at time and goes to voice mail. It doesn't even log on my call list.  I have someone in Palliative care and con not have this happening. I even upgrade my phone, which has now been sent all to Samsung, as Virgin claimed it wasn't their issue. Apparently it is!!  Once my phone is returned I will be looking at another carrier (Rogers) as a new carrier.

I've been experiencing the same symptoms for over a year. Very spotty reception throughout Niagara.

Hi there @NanaS and @Mooch ,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your posts.

Many factors can limit signal strength; topography, environmental conditions, line of sight to towers, types of buildings in your area, the amount of users in your area, etc.

In order for the Community to get a better understanding, please provide the following details;

  • Are you seeing any issues with your text messaging and/or data usage as well?
  • Are the issues only happening indoors at home, or outdoors as well?
  • Do you know of anyone else in the area having similar issues?
  • Have you tried using Wi-Fi callingOpens in a new tab or window where available?
  • Have you got in touch with our technical support team to open a ticket?

In the meantime, we'd recommend checking out our How To article on Troubleshooting voice callsOpens in a new tab or window for tips and advice that may help.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I have been working with Virgin Mobile for months.  This issue has only bee happening within the last 8 months.  I am very close to a tower, I have tried WiFi Calling, I have changed Sim cards.

My phone is currently being serviced as they said it was the phone. I am using a older phone. Was great for 5 days and then it all started happening again. I called Virgin for a call back on Tech Support.  They called 7 times and not once did my phone ring or signal a call was coming in.

Will see what the outcome on the phone repair will be, BUT I am assuming the issue will continue. Once contract is up I will be changing providers
