No control over the volume

Hi, my pixel 4a, has a mind of its own with the volume buttons, it just reduces on it own.  Can't hear phone calls or notifications. Any ideas, I have done the obvious. Thanks

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post. 

This sounds like an issue with the device itself. If you tried to power cycle (full restart) your device and the issue is still ongoing, you may need to do a manufacture reset without restoring from a previous backup.
