Mobile network not available

Hi.  I'm trying to make calls and a message, "mobile network not available" pops up on my screen.

A)  Is this because of the ice storm?

B)  When will the mobile network work again?

If you're in an area expected to be impacted by the ice storm, then this would be the most likely cause, yes.

While we regrettably can't provide an ETA at this time, rest assured our teams are working hard and in cooperation with local hydro services to be able to have services back online as soon as possible.

After I posted the message I remembered something about using wifi to make calls.  I checked my phone's settings and I am able to make calls using wifi.  Thank you for the reply.
