Extreme increase in phone data usage

Yesterday my phone plan was due to renew itself for the upcoming month. I have a 2G phone plan and yesterday I was about 2.01 G. I wake up today to see my phone plan is renewed for this upcoming month, but suddenly I'm 10.30 GBs over my 2 GB limit over the span of one night while I was sleeping and I know for a fact my data usage was off. Is this a glitch or did something specifically happen?

Good morning, @Cooper. Welcome to the Virgin Plus Community, and thanks for your post.

We wanted to check in and see if your data usage was still showing incorrectly when viewing your usage in your My Account profile. Very rarely at times, it can momentarily "glitch out" when your billing cycle first resets. If it's still showing incorrectly, could you share a few details with the Community for us to better understand the issue?

  • Is this happening when looking at your usage in the My Account app, in a web browser, or both?
  • If in the app, have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app? Sometimes being in the most up to date version of the app can force these issues to be corrected.
  • If in the web browser, are you using a supported, up to date browser? 
  • Also for the web browser, it's also recommended that you try clearing your browser's cookies and cache, then logging out of your My Account profile entirely and back in.

If after all this and your data is still showing incorrectly, could you share a screenshot of how it appears with the Community? Make sure to remove all identifying personal info (phone number, account number, etc) before doing so.
