Hey there @Llcc_1234

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

That would depend on the type of phone that you have. We suggest going on your phones manufacturer website and search key words like; Using Dual SIM with an eSIM.

I have a Virgin Canada iphone 12. I will be installing an esim from Airalo for an overseas trip next month.

My question is this: if I turn OFF (cellular=off; data roaming=off) my primary Virgin line  and just use Airalo esim  which is a data plan only, what happens if someone phones or texts my primary Virgin line? Will my phone ring and will I receive the text? I am assuming (please correct if I am wrong) that the call will go to v-mail and the text won't go through sine I've turned OFF the Virgin line.

My goal is to have $0 roaming charges on my Virgin bill for the period I am travelling. I am perfectly OK if the calls/texts to my Virgin line is "blocked" while my eSIM is active as I've instructed family/friends to contact me on Whatsapp, imessage or facetime which only uses data that will be provided by my Airalo esim plan.

Thank-you for answering my questions.
