I have been all over the website and have been unable to find the answer, so I'm hoping maybe someone here can help.
I want to update my phone number. I moved and have a different area code than the city I am currently living in, so I would like a local number. The internet says I should be able to do this through the website, but try as I might I haven't been able to figure it out.

I just changed to virgin today, and I was surprised because there will be fee for $50 charging for changing phone number.. I understand they charge for activation fee, because all other company does. But $50 on top of activation fee is too much.
All other company like fido, koodo do not charge for changing numbers..
is there any way changing it for free of charge?

They probably charged a service fee so charge it to you to cover. Probably Bell mobility it goes through. There usually a charge to transfer your number to another provider. They should of told you of this charge at least.

I've had certain number that was given to me and I've had nothing but problems. It seems to have been owned another person and I am constantly being harassed about their phone number. I do believe I should not have to pay to get it changed. What are my solutions? This is getting very frustrating

I am tired of fighting you guys. I have talked to a total of 7 individuals over the course of several months to change my phone number as I have moved across the country. I have even gotten a new phone and a new contract and still couldn't change my number. I was told and have even selected a new number 3 times and still nothing has changed. This issue needs to be addressed.

I moved to a different province, and I want to change my phone number to a local number. I spoke with chat and found out its $50... am i the only one who thinks that's crazy? Lol the last company I was with let me change it for fun once a month.... this is just so I have a local number.... anyways, a few questions.
1. Has anyone ever gotten around it somehow? If so, how?
2. I can upgrade in November i believe, if I do, can I change my number then for free?
I've moved to different cities, different provinces and any company ive been with didnt make me pay to change it so this just feels .. wrong. Lol i'm just debating if its worth changing it or if I should be shopping around for a better deal! Maybe find a cheaper deal plus get a new number (for free haha)
