CAN/USA Data?

A loyalty plan I have been offered specifies that it includes "unlimited 5g can/USA data". My current plan just says it includes unlimited 5g data. If I upgrade to the new plan with can/USA data, am I able to use my data in the USA without having to pay the additional "roam sweet roam" fee?

Good morning, @BPM902. Welcome to the virgin Plus Community, and thanks for your post.

Yes, that is exactly what those plans are meant for. 🙂 Calling and SMS coverage is also included while you're in the US.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

I have the same plan, and I can confirm that texting, data and calling are available in the USA at not additional charge. You will receive a message when you start roaming in the USA letting you know that you won't incur any additional charges because you have a Can/Us plan.

Hope this helps.

I have been offered a loyalty plan Get 125GB 5G unlimited data CAN/US.

Does this include data that can be used in the US or is it calls and text only.

The plan details do not specifically say that US data is included.

Also interested in the answer to whether this is a data plan for Canada and US or just talk and text.

I've been offered a loyalty plan that says unlimited 125GB US/CAN, but when you read the description it says I can call and text while in the US (I am canadian) but it does not specify that the data can be used freely in the US also.

Please let me know if the data is also able to be used freely, while I'm in the US (without having a roam sweet roam add on)

I am going to the US for one week.  This plan means I can just use my phone like normal, including Data right?  I was looking everywhere for the specific terms for data share and couldn't find anything.  And while I am in the US, I can make calls to numbers in the US and Canada?

The promotion wording is a little ambiguous as it does not specifically say that unlimited long distance calls from Canada to the US are included.

Hello,

I have the Loy+ Sweet Pay $61 Ultd 125GB 5G CAN/US plan and I am traveling to the US and want to confirm that calling, texting and data usage is covered at no additional cost while I am traveling.  Can you please let me know if this is the case?

If I have the BYOP : $65 Unlimited 80GB 5G CAN/US plan. Does that mean I can use my phone talk/text/data in the US without have to pay for “roam sweet roam”

Good morning, @Fajp11. Welcome to the Virgin Plus Community, and thanks for your post. 🙂

Yes, that's exactly what that means. If you're unsure, you can also look at the plan details that specify US usage is unlimited and included in that plan - i.e. Unlimited Can & US calling and text.

Thank you. I have been wanting this type of phone plan 😀

Do we still have to turn on ‘Roaming’ and restart our phones or can we just continue using our phones without making any change in our settings as if we were still in Canada? Thanks

Good morning, @LoRob. Welcome to the Virgin Plus Community, and thanks for your post.

You would still need to have roaming enabled in your phone's settings to take advantage of USA service, yes. Any use of your service not on a Canadian cellular network is considered to be roaming - the difference in the Canada/USA plan is that roaming service in the US is automatically zero rated and as such there are no charges. 🙂
