Hey there @Jimthenagual,

Welcome to the Community and that's a great question.

Worry not, when you make the request to unlock your phoneOpens in a new tab or window if it's an Android phone, you would be provided a master unlock code that you can take with you until you're ready to insert the other carrier's SIM card. No data is required to complete this step.

For Apple, check out How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrierOpens in a new tab or window

I'm headed to Japan. I want to unlock my phone so I can use a Japanese sim card while I am there. The site says I can't unlock it without a second company's SIM card to pop in first. I won't have one until I am in Japan. Will I be able to unlock it from Japan without using Data there? I.e, can it be done under wifi?

Hello, how can I unlock an old device to add a new sim ? I have upgraded my phone. I want to use the old device when i am traveling abroad by inserting a local SIM.

Hey guys !

im selling my daughters iPhone 8 she hasn’t used since upgrading her phone . I need to know how to unlock it from virgin and also to clear in so the person purchasing it can’t use see or have any information from her account . Thanks

The iPhone 8 is already unlocked, no extra steps needed.

Apple has a good support article on what to do when selling your iPhone and how to clear the personal information.

Hello!

I recently upgraded my iPhone 13 to an IPhone 16 Plus.

I previously bought a Jetpac eSIM before travelling to the USA and it worked flawlessly.

I just bought another eSIM from Jetpac and when I try to install the eSIM, I get an error message and it asks me to contact my provider.

What can be the problem? Is the new phone locked or something?

Thanks for your help.
