credit balance after closing account

I have closed my account and I have a credit balance. My question is does this money go back into my credit card which was pre authorized payments?

I have discontinued my Virgin Mobile service. I paid each bill through my bank account/not automatic withdrawal. There is an outstanding credit of $35.97. How will this be reimbursed to me? Check by mail?
