Hey Rockstar
Another way to look at what may have happened and why you see the charge mentioned.
1 800 numbers do not charge you long distance but it will consume your day time minutes should your plan not include unlimited minutes. If your mobile rate plan doesn't include unlimited minutes, you may have gone over the day time minutes and been charged extra.
Little late to be sharing but hopeful it will assist going forward.

Hi @Rockstar7525 , welcome to the community, and thank you for your question today.
While this 1-800 number appears to be a legitimate CRA number, your question would lead us to believe that you have experienced a spoofed number.
For the Community to better assist, could you please provide us with a few details; did you dial the number, receive the call, or call back after the fact (voicemail, missed call, etc)?

I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding how toll-free numbers work. It was my impression that they are free to call and I'm told by others they are free. But I noticed Virgin is charging me for $13 for calling a 1-888 number? Has anyone else been charged for calling a 1-888 number or is this an error?
