I have used a Valerie router for 4 years with no problems and now ( even with a replacement unit ) things are different.
I always turn my system off at night and on startup next day wifi and other settings are BACK ON. Was a change made to these routers because i don't want wifi on and i don't want to be going into settings everytime i power ON to get things back to normal. Has anyone else had problems like this recently.?????? thnx.

Getting nowhere on this. Now my speed test does not work. Can any moderator tell me what has changed. Level 2 tech just told me things have been updated and I will not be able to have my modem back the way it was. Wow.

Hi @SIMON123
the modem version of firmware has a new updated. and you can't getting back old version..
but try to do Factory Reset, is will be working fine for the new version
- Press and hold the Reset button on the side of your Valérie modem for 5 seconds.
- Wait until all 3 LED lights on the front of your modem are white, and Home Internet: Connected is displayed.
- Open a web browser and follow the online instructions.

thank you for trying to help me sort this out, but what I need is the help of professionals AND a Valerie modem to work the way it did for FOUR YEARS. So why not give me and everyone else the previous firmware that worked.
What they call a new update is a mistake and the Factory Reset does not help by the way....................................... I guess the reason I am not getting replies to my problem is that MAYBE the majority of Virginplus customers always want WiFi turned ON and NEVER power OFF Valerie, therefore the so-called update would not change things for them.

Hi @SIMON123
i can turn the WiFi OFF & ON, but you need to go to setting to do that,
you have plan unlimited, so why you need to turn OFF,
and if your modem not working right then replacement unit again maybe the modem has some issue,

My Valerie modem is finally WORKING CORRECTLY. After many long chats with support and 2 modem replacements I now am able to change settings in ADMIN and the settings are saved, even if I power OFF. ( the way it worked for 4 years ). My speed test works, with excellent numbers. To others that lost the MANAGER, that is back also. The planets aligned correctly OR my new modem updated correctly. Fingers crossed and my advice is keep getting replacements, sooner or later something works in your favor.

UPDATE 03 NOV, 2023. When I said All is working correctly, spoke too soon. With the 2nd. replacement I had almost 24 hours of great speed (95/11) and was able to have my wi-fi settings saved after power OFF then ON..the way I had it for 4 yrs...But next day modem decided that's enough of good times for you and its back to no speedtest ( was 30/30 for the 4 yrs. ) and no wi-fi settings control, Could be worse, at least I do have internet.

Did you get this resolved? I am having similar issues, I power off my Valerie modem every day too. Primary Wifi network comes back on after a power cycle. I have to manually turn it off after every day, most other settings seem to survive a reset.

March 2024 UPDATE:
Hi, Simon123 here, I finally received a reply to my problem of modem not saving my settings after shutdown. Was told nothing can be done for that. My speed test works now and I am staying with Virginplus as long as they are willing to give me a good monthly discount. ( I ask for this each year ) ttfn.

So on my Valerie modem I have 3 buttons, the I for information, the key button that displays your password and the WPS button.
The issue I'm having is that I've disabled the password key button via the modem admin settings however I've found that unplugging the modem from the wall power outlet results in this setting being reestablished without needing an administration password.
This means anyone can unplug your modem, plug it right back in and have your wifi password within seconds, I assume this is an oversight that I would like to see fixed immediately as nobody should have access to my wifi without my permission or an administration password, this feature is neat but definitely bugged, has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Well that is good news @VirginPlusAntgio . It should hopefully not be too difficult to determine why some settings are not being persisted and correct it.
Can you notify this thread if/when a fix is being pushed so I can verify? It is still very annoying to have to redo these settings every time the modem is power cycled.

I see there hasn't been a response to this, considering cancelling my Virgin internet as I too am having this issue with the WiFi reappearing, I have my own router system and am trying to eliminate the amount of wireless interference in my area by disabling the wireless I don't need..... is there a 1800# to contact virgin? Anyone get a solution to this, its bizzarre to me that it won't save settings after a "power outage" - i have factory reset, I have rebooted all of the "tips" I have read and none work....
