Is Virgin blocking IPTV apps? I can only watch it with VPN in the evening and weekend. During the day Mon-Fri is ok without VPN.

Hi there, @GB4. Welcome to the Virgin Plus Community, and thanks for your post.
For the Community to be better able to assist, could you please provide further details?
- It's odd that you seem to switch regularly between using a VPN and not. Could you clarify as to why?
- What indication exactly are you getting that the app (or apps) in question are being blocked? Is it a constant buffer, or are you getting an error message preventing you from viewing?
- If only with one app, are you encountering this issue with any other apps?
- Are you able to replicate this outside of your home network? I.E. at a friend's or family member's home, while using mobile data, etc.
- Have you spoken to the IPTV providers in question to confirm if there is indeed any kind of measure preventing you from using it?
Looking forward to hearing back from you. Best wishes.

We'd recommend touching base with your IPTV provider to confirm if the issue is on their end, as well as if there's any conflicts with the irregular VPN usage. Outside of our own Virgin TV service, content availability is determined by their policies and licensing, e.g. when and/or how live sports programming may be available. Depending on what you're watching, you may also be subject to local blackouts (i.e. wanting to watch a Toronto Maple Leafs game while living in Toronto).
Keep us and the rest of the Community updated. 🙂

It usually works without VPN during work days till about 7pm. Last weekend we needed it all day. Is it blocked during live sport events that start in the evening? Some posts suggest that. It is strange that I can't watch in on data as well when this happens. I haven't tried at anyone else's house. I'm getting 'cannot connect' message after the stream stops.
