I have been having issues with the wifi router section of the Valeria modem and I am on my second one since the apparent fix is just go and swap for a "new one". I would like to disable the WIFI router and use my ASUS routers. I the past I was able to use bridge mode, but I cannot find it and reading around it seems it doesn't exist in the Valeria modem. I am hoping to get some insight here.

Did you check to see if maybe your modem and your router are broadcasting the same network (192.168.2.0/24) for the DHCP service and they have the same IP for the management 192.168.2.1

Hi, yep, I disconnected all ethernet cables from Valerie before I did a factory reset.

Using cmd on PC windows, type ipconfig and take a look to default gateway ip, it should be your router.

Hi, na, both my router and modem should be on different address spaces: 192.168.50.0/24 and 192.168.2.0/24 respectively. I say should since DHCP on the modem is turned off, even apparently after a reset as the default gateway is blank in ipconfig /all. If I manually set the gateway in Network Properties, I still can't get a response from the modem when navigating in my browser.

Hi, when connected to my router, the default gateway is my router as expected. When connected to Valerie via wifi after a reset, default gateway is blank. Even if I manually set the default gateway for my Wi-Fi in Network Connection to 192.168.2.1, browser requests to Valerie or 192.168.2.1 time out.

Hi there.
I have the Steve modem and been frustrated with the lack of Bridge mode. I have a PfSense router and been running it in Double Nat mode for ages but wanted it to go directly to the internet.
I had to contact an agent from Virgin and while I don't fault him for lacking knowledge, he did reset the password so that I could be sure of what it was.
User ID is a format of v2xxxxxx@virginmobile.ca and password is what the agent set it to for me.
Unlike what I have read elsewhere in this forum post. There is no vlan tag. In fact I was trying to use a vlan tag after speaking to the agent and it was failing to work until I tried no vlan tags. I'm not sure why someone mentionned vlan 35 as that is not the case for me.
Perhaps this is a situation of location. I'm in the Montreal region for instance and I didn't need to add a vlan tag. Maybe there is a vlan tag for those in another area such as Toronto but I have no idea.
I just felt the need to mention this here hoping it will help someone else facing this problem.

steve is for dsl. You will probably need an dsl modem for using 100% your own router or router who is able to deal with dsl.

I found that I had to also turn off the antennas, (click button at bottom of screen).
