topic Theft/Fraud in Member Benefits and My Account

Has anyone ever had this happen. I suspended my sons phone for 2 days because of behavior issues. In that time his father who I have no contact with took the phone that is registered to me and put a new number on it. Now I have to pay 600 off for the phone and the contract. Is this even legal when I am still paying for the new I phone as well as his contract? Thank you for any input

Hey there @Jeannie ,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

As the Community is a peer to peer assistance channel, we cannot see the status of your account or mobile phone. However, we can confirm that even if you have an ongoing agreement with the phone, you have the ability to change the SIM/eSIM card and it will work without affecting your current agreement (EX: gifting the phone to a family member or friend, using another phone that you already had or preferred, etc., some exception apply).

In the instance that you did not authorize the action, this would fall under the lost/stolen clause of your service agreement. We invite you to visit the thread Lost phone to learn how to flag the stolen phone.

Let the Community know if you have more questions.
