In the case of a lost device, there are a number of steps that can be taken.

If you're on a prepaid plan, then log in to My Account, click on the “Lost and Stolen” link, and make your selection, depending on whether you think your phone is lost or stolen.

If you're on a postpaid monthly plan, as a lost or stolen phone can be considered an emergency, find more information on Lost and stolen phone

Depending on the make and model of your device, there is a function that would permit you to locate it. For example; Find My iPhone for Apple and/or Find My Mobile for Samsung.

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

If you haven't already, check out our above post in order to flag and register you phone as being lost to ensure there are no usage charges.

Virgin Plus can only deliver phones/SIM cards within Canada. While being abroad, you can still reach your voicemail in case you would like to set up a personalized recording to advise others of the lost phone and listen to your messages. To do so, you can call your mobile and wait for your recording to start, once the recording starts, hit # right away and it will ask you for your voicemail password and from there, your voicemail will work as normal.

I have lost my phone travelling out of country, my account is currently suspended. I am still out of country and would like to order a replacement SIM card ( my current phone number) to be mailed to my home so I have it when I arrive back in Canada in a few days so I can reactivate my account. We currently have local calling on my husbands cell (Portugal) only and data so would like to do this via text.

No. When you follow the steps provided to report your phone as lost or stolen, your account is effectively put on hold, including stopping all monthly charges. You will need to reach out again to have your services resumed.

Will the SIM card be blocked only or will the IMEI of the phone also be blocked?

Both will be blocked. If you happen to find the phone again after the fact, you can reach out to have the IMEI removed from the black list.

What is the difference if I declare my phone lost, will the IMEI still be usable?

There is no difference in how lost or stolen phones are treated.
